KARACHI, March 18: First-class cricketer Pervez Iqbal, 27, died in Rawalpindi last week (March 11) after suffering from rare pollen allergy.
According to details, Pervez, who also suffered from asthma, had come from England to receive his mother who had proceeded to Saudi Arabia to perform Haj.
Pervez was a former Rawalpindi Under-19 player and had represented his association in the 2000-01 Quaid-i-Azam Trophy. He had skipped the ongoing season because of asthma. He also played for Derbyshire Cricket Board in England.
Pervez, a left-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler, scored 602 runs and claimed 46 wickets in 20 first-class matches. In 20 one-day games, he scored 212 runs and picked up 25 wickets.
