ISLAMABAD, May 17: Pakistan Law Commission, a statutory body with a mandate to suggest reforms in laws, will meet on Saturday to consider an 11-point agenda, including a draft law proposing that trafficking of children to be used as camel jockey, be made a penal offence.

The meeting to be presided over by Chief Justice Sheikh Riaz Ahmad, will be attended among others by the Chief Justice of Federal Shariat Court, and chief justices of Peshawar, Lahore.

The PLC meeting will consider the Law Commission Draft (Amendment) Ordinance 1979; amendments to Pakistan Penal Code to prescribe punishment for bouncing of cheques; amendment to Dissolution of Muslim Marriage Act, 1939; consideration of reference from ministry of law for amendment to the legal practitioners and bar councils act; right of appeal to private complainant against acquittal order of special courts; addition of offence of molestation to Pakistan Penal Code, 1860; addition of the offence of Trafficking in Child for Employment in Injurious/dangerous Occupations and use as camel jockey to the Pakistan Penal Code; consideration of reference from Ministry of Women on Domestic Violence; amendment to Pakistan Penal Code, 1860 to prescribe punishment for absconding from trial; amendment to sections 32, 260 and 261 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, and reforms of Law Reports Act 1875.
