LRC owners asked to try all horses

Published April 10, 2003

LAHORE,  April 9: In order to hold clean and fair racing  all race horse owners have been directed to try their horses running in  races.  Chairman Lahore Race Club (LRC), Tariq  Aziz  held  a meeting  with the owners and told them that if any horse was  not found on try out he will be debarred from taking part in races.

He further informed them that if a horse was declared to run, that  meant  he was racing fit and if his rider did not  try  his mount he will be penalised and suspended from riding.

Tariq   Aziz   asked  the  owners  not  to   pressurise   the handicapper.   If   they   had  any   complaint   against   wrong handicapping, they should bring it to the notice of LRC secretary in  writing.  All  complaints will be disposed of  on  merit  and justice would be done, he assured them.

He further directed the riders to stick to their lanes  while riding in races. If they want to take over any horse they  should keep  at  least two lengths distance to avoid any  mishap.  Those failing  to observe the said rule may result in  disqualification of  their  mount from the race. Moreover they should  ride  their mounts according to their nature and their distance.—AG
