KARACHI, June 25: The Sea View beach was reopened for public on Friday evening after a three-day closure during which the dhow wreckage and oil were removed from the beach, said a spokesman for Defence Housing Authority.

The DHA had ordered closure of the beach to public on Tuesday as the wreckage and cargo of the dhow, left unattended in the sea following the safe recovery of its crew members by the Maritime Security Agency, were spread over two-kilometre-long beach.

Talking to Dawn, the DHA official said that the beach was cleaned on Friday morning. After removal of dhow debris and hay bales as well as oil sludges, the beach was restored to its normal position, the official said. "The Sea View beach is now safe for visitors," he added.
