TEHRAN, Nov 7: Several moderate earthquakes shook parts of southeastern Iran on Sunday forcing officials in the province of Hormuzgan to close all schools, the news agency IRNA reported.
A local official said that more than 15 moderate quakes jolted the village of Ruydar and in order not to endanger the health of the schoolchildren, the district governor's office decided to close all schools in that area.
As the school buildings are not quake-resistant the schools would stay closed if the quakes continued, the official added.-dpa
