LONDON, June 22: World oil prices fell on Wednesday after the weekly snapshot of US crude inventories showed no surprises, leaving traders to delay a push to new historic levels above $60 despite ongoing supply concerns.
New York’s main contract, light sweet crude for delivery in August, slid 89 cents to $58.15 per barrel in early deals.
The July contract had hit a record $59.70 before expiring on Tuesday.
