PESHAWAR, Oct 24: Reports of suicide by a schoolboy was echoed in the NWFP Assembly on Monday when ANP parliamentary leader Bashir Bilour on a point of order raised the issue on the floor, demanding a through probe into the incident and exemplary punishment for to the culprit.

A student of the Government Higher Secondary School in Zaida Village of Swabi district had to relive himself in his trousers when a teacher refused to allow him to go outside. The embarrassed student could not bear the humiliation and hanged himself to death.

Nighat Yasmeen Orakzai, provincial information secretary of the PML, supported the ANP leader on the issue and demanded that an FIR be lodged against the teacher.

Provincial Education Minister Maulana Fazle Ali informed the house that an inquiry had been ordered into matter and assured that the man responsible for the death would get exemplary punishment.—APP
