KARACHI: Anti-encroachment drive


KARACHI, Jan 5: The government has decided to remove all encroachments in Saddar and its surrounding areas to restore right of way and ensure smooth flow of traffic besides facilitating pedestrians.

All temporary and permanent encroachments will be removed and roads and footpaths will be cleared in Saddar Town.

The decision was taken last evening at a meeting held at the Governor’s House. Governor Ishratul Ibad presided over the meeting. He stressed removing encroachments from all roundabouts and main traffic junctions in the town.

The city government’s land department, Saddar Town administration, its TPO, the traffic police and Shop-owners’ Association will jointly take action for the removal of encroachments in Saddar area.

All makeshift shops on footpaths, pushcarts, workshops will be removed during the operation.—PPI
