By Our Correspondent

THATTA, Jan 5: A 27-member delegation comprising intellectuals, writers and poets from the US, the UK and India visited the Haleji Lake, the Keenjhar Lake and the Makli necropolis on Wednesday.

In the delegation, there were 11 from the US, five from Britain and remaining from India.

Majority of them were Sindhis and came to meet their old friends, watched historical sites and revived their memories.

Those who were on the trip included Bhatia Sachin, Kalwani Nank, Lalwani Lagjti, Lalwani Prem, Bojhwani Hans and Datwani Jeewat.

Some of the members of the delegation left for their ancestral towns on coastal areas of Jati and Chuhar Jamali.

Dr Ismail Palijo, secretary of the People’s Doctors’ Forum, hosted a lunch at his residence for the guests.

Bhojwani Nandni, Esrani Yashi, Daryani Mohan and Shyam Lal said that relaxed policies of both the neighbouring countries had provided them an opportunity to visit their ancestral places.

They said Sindh was a land of Sufis and God loving people.

Those who spoke on the occasion were Dr Suleman Shaikh of SGA, Dr Mohammad Ali Manjhi, Dr Ismail Palijo and former MNA Babu Ghulam Hussain.
