SUKKUR, Jan 18: The Civil Lines police, Jacobabad, on Wednesday registered a case against an ASI and 12 police constables of Shikarpur under sections 3 and 17 of the Hudood Ordinance.

The case against the policemen was registered on an order of the first additional session judge of Jacobabad, Suresh Kumar, for allegedly looting a house. The judge ordered arrest of the accused and their production in the court.

Atta Mohammad had field a petition in the court in which he had alleged that on May 26, 2005, ASI Anwar Brohi and 12 police constables had entered his house in Shikarpur, ransacked his house, tortured family members and taken away Rs100,000 and 140 grams of gold.

He said the policemen had also illegally detained him in a private jail. He said he was later released but the looted cash and gold was not returned.
