Departmental hockey from today

KARACHI, Jan 19: All-Pakistan departmental hockey championship starts from Friday with PTCL taking on PAF in the opening match at Hockey Club of Pakistan.

Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) had planned to organize national championship departmental qualifying round but postponed because of unknown reasons. Instead, it decided to organize all-Pakistan tournament.

Sixteen participating teams have been divided into four pools.

Pools:

Pool ‘A’: PTCL, KESC, PAF, Customs.

Pool ‘B’: Wapda, HBL, Pakistan Navy, Police.

Pool ‘C’: NBP, PIA, HEC, Sui Southern Gas.

Pool ‘D’: Pakistan, Railways, POF, Pakistan Steel.

Schedule:

Jan 20: PAF v PTCL; Army v POF; Wapda v Police; KESC v Customs.

Jan 21: HBL v Police; Army v Pakistan Steel; PIA v HEC; NBP v SSGC.

Jan 22: PAF v Custom; Pakistan Steel v POF; HBL v Navy; Army v Railways.

Jan 23: KESC v PTCL; Police v Navy; SSGC v HEC; Railways v POF.

Jan 24: Wapda v HBL; SSGC v PIA; NBP v HEC; KESC v PAF.

Jan 25: Pakistan Steel v Railways; Wapda v Navy; Customs v PTCL; NBP v PIA.

Jan 26: Rest Day.

Jan 27: Quarterfinals.
