Man killed in feud over cable connection

HARIPUR, Feb 16: One person was killed on Thursday in the Khalbat township following a dispute over the snapping of a cable net connection.

Police quoted one Naeem Khan as saying that his brother Hafiz Azam Khan was going to the mosque when he was shot at and injured by one Yasir Khan with a pistol.

The injured man was taken to the DHQ hospital, which referred him to the Ayub Medical Complex in Abbottabad. He died on the way to the hospital.

According to the complainant, the accused suspected Hafiz Azam of having snapped the cable net connection to his house.

SUICIDE: A married man committed suicide after a quarrel with his wife in Jama village on Thursday.

Family sources said that Shabbir Ahmed was critically injured when he aimed a gun at himself.

Shabbir was taken to the DHQ hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Sources close to his family said that Shabbir had been arrested in connection with a murder case and had only recently been released from prison.
