Train-stop at Khairpur restored

KHAIRPUR, Feb 16: The stop of the Chenab Express at the Khairpur railway station has been restored by the railway administration after protests by the Anjuman Tajiran-i-Khairpur.

The railway administration had terminated the stop on Wednesday without any prior notice.

A meeting of the Anjuman Tajiran-i-Khairpur was held on Thursday with its president Qutbuddin Shaikh in the chair.

Representatives of 15 organizations, including Shehri Ittehad, Jagarta Forum, Muttahida Mazdoor Federation and NGOs attended the meeting.

The ATK and the railway administration made a written agreement to restore the stop.

RELEASED: Former chief of the banned Sipah-i-Sahaba religious organization, Allama Ali Sher Hyderi, was released on bail from the Khairpur central jail on Thursday evening.

He was under detention since almost last six months.

Leaders of the Jamat Ahl-i-Sunnat and students of the Jamia Hyderia Luqman Madrasah took him to the jamia in a procession.
