Fine fifties by Tahir and Sajid

LAHORE, Feb 20: Fine half-centuries by Tahir Mahmood and Sajid Janjua enabled Sialkot Veterans to a five-wicket win over Lahore Blues in the 8th Pakistan inter-city Seniors cricket tournament at the Racecourse ground on Monday.

Set to score 195 for win in 30 overs, Tahir made 68-ball 76 with eight boundaries while Sajid remained unbeaten for 51-ball 50 as Sialkot raced to the target scoring 198 for five in 27 overs.

LAHORE BLUES 194-9, 30 overs (Allauddin Butt 54, Babar Zaman 39; Zahid Javed 4-34).

SIALKOT 198 for five, 27 overs (Tahir Mehmood 76, Sajid Janjua (50).

In another match, Islamabad Ramna beat Rawalpindi Blues by five wickets at F-9 ground, Islamabad.

Chasing a target of 182, Ramna overhauled it scoring 186 for five in 24 overs.
