KARACHI: Testing schedule for K-III project sought


KARACHI, Feb 26: The Managing Director of KWSB, Brig Iftikhar Haider, has directed the engineers involved in 100mgd K-III water project to prepare a testing schedule of the tasks completed till now so that supply of additional water could be ensured to the city on the date announced by City Nazim Mustafa Kamal.

He issued the orders while reviewing the works on K-III water project from North East Karachi Pump House to Dhabeji and Pipri on Saturday. Project Manager Misbahuddin Farid was also present on the occasion.

According to a statement issued here on Sunday, KWSB Managing Director examined the installation and finishing of six pumping stations, rising main and works completed by the KESC for supply of electricity to K-III pumping stations. He ordered that with the completion of different tasks of the project, testing schedule should also be prepared side by side so that timely completion of the project could be ensured. The quality aspect should also be kept in view, he said.

It was mentioned that work on the rest of the project was underway in day and night shifts.—APP
