KARACHI, March 4: Five ships carrying containers and steel coils are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where five ships, Shalamar, to unload crude oil, Rainbow Spring to offload sugar, Maersk Alabama, to unload and load containers, African Python to offload and load general cargo and Diamond Park to unload chemicals were berthed.
Seven vessels, Kota Tabah, Thor Captain, Conti Esperance, Bolan, Pacific Express, Fairchem Mustang and Orionis departed on Saturday, while Maersk Alabama, Rickmers Mumbai, Thor Nautlus, Eber, Shalamar, African Pathon, Fu Yu Shan, Lalazar and Explorer are due to sail out on Sunday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 84,247 tons comprising 28,827 tons of export cargo including 3,499 tons of rice and 55,420 tons of import tonnage, which also included 853 tons of sugar.
The following ships are due on Sunday: Kota Merdes, Bunga Delima, Corin Thaikos and Sagamore, with containers and Nicolas-S, with steel coils.
The following vessels are due on Monday: Al-Marwah, with chemicals, Lady Jasmine and San Carlo to load 23,000 and 30,000 tons of molasses, Johar and Swat to load 65,000 tons of crude oil each, Pelagos, to offload steel coils and Hanjin Busan, to unload and load containers.
