PESHAWAR: Car rally protesters condemn Bush’s visit

By Ashfaq Yusufzai

PESHAWAR, March 4: The Alliance for the Protection of Human Rights (APHR) took out a car rally here on Saturday to condemn the US President Bush’s visit to Pakistan.

The activists of the APHR, belonging to nine NGOs, started the rally from the Aurat Foundation, Peshawar office. Different cars displaying the anti-Bush posters passed through various busy roads of the city, including the one near the US Consulate.

The APHR in a press release said the so-called “War on Terror”, being fought by President General Pervez Musharraf with help of President Bush against his own people had created insecurity and law and order situation in the country.

Terming the US president visit as an insult to the people of Pakistan, the APHR members said that due to his hostile policies, Mr Bush could not face the people of Pakistan and that was why he had come to Pakistan in the dark of the night.
