Asian reserves

SINGAPORE, March 11: Asian holdings of foreign exchange reserves, excluding those of China, dipped by $1.05 billion to about $1.907 trillion in February, following a 1.6pc fall in Hong Kong’s reserves and a 0.45pc decrease in South Korea’s reserves.

China releases reserves data at the end of every quarter, and its reserves totalled $818.9 billion at the end of December.

The countries and their foreign exchange reserve holdings are: Japan $850.06bn, China $818.90bn, Taiwan $256.98bn, South Korea $215.95bn, India $141.59bn, Hong Kong $125.70bn, Singapore $120.25bn, Malaysia $72.20bn, Thailand $53.70bn, Indonesia $35.54bn, Philippines $20.58bn, Pakistan $11.40, and Bangladesh $3.03bn. —Reuters
