NAWABSHAH, March 18: The Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science and Technology (QUEST) is planning to establish three more departments, Textile, Telecommunications and Chemical Engineering, said Vice-Chancellor Professor A. A. Junejo here on Thursday.

He said at present the university had eight departments, which were Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, Information Technology, Computer Systems, Energy and Environment while Mathematics and Statistics would be launched next year.

He said the university had only three PhDs in past, but now it had eight. Besides, the university had sent more than 18 teachers to France, Germany, China, Turkey, Japan and Thailand for masters and PhDs including five on HEC special scholarships.

Prof Junejo said a video-conferencing hall had been established for teachers and students, where they could attend online any conference held in any part of the world.
