LAHORE, April 5: The 55th national cycling championship will be held from April 12 to 16 in collaboration with the Railways Sports Board. A spokesman of the Pakistan Cycling Federation said that the event was being held early because the country's only velodrome would be demolished, for reconstruction soon after the competition. The last edition was held in November last year.
Participating teams are Army, Railways, Wapda, Sui Southern Gas Company, POF Wah and all four provinces.
Meanwhile, a Pakistan cycling team will be selected on the basis of the performance of the cyclists in this championship.
The team will compete in the 10th South Asian Games scheduled to be held at Colombo, Sri Lanka in August this year.
