KARACHI: Library project shelved

KARACHI, April 9: The Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town Council has decided to convert the building of an under-construction Women’s Library Complex at NIPA roundabout into a hospital. The decision was taken in the council’s fourth session of the council, presided over by Mushtaque Ali, the first presiding officer, an official handout said on Sunday.

The proposal to scrap the Women’s Library Complex project and setup a hospital was unanimously approved by the council.

The handout said it was a longstanding demand of the citizens to establish a hospital here as after having such medical centre they would not have to rush to other hospitals of the city in case of any emergency.

The council also stressed on immediate closure of health club and a nursery at Bagh-i-Rizwan Park located in UC-6 and approved a proposal for further funding for the ongoing work at the park.—PPI
