KARACHI: Two die in firing incidents

KARACHI, April 9: The brother of slain activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Naeem Shary, was shot dead by unknown persons in Shah Faisal Colony on Sunday. Police said Naveed Abdur Razzak was going in his car when unknown persons opened fire on his car. The victim was rushed to the nearby hospital where he was declared dead. Later, his body was sent to the JPMC for legal formalities.

Police are investigating the matter, saying the killing seemed to be a targeted.

DIES: A police constable posted at the Chief Minister’s House died in accidental firing on Sunday.

Police said Muhammad Saleem had returned after offering prayers inside his picket on the premises of CM’s House. As he was about to insert the magazine into his gun, it went off. The bullet entered from his chin and passed through his head, killing him instantly.

Police said a bullet might have been left inside the chamber of which Saleem was unaware.
