Rs1m in cash, valuables taken away

SIALKOT, April 9: A gang of 18 dacoits looted cash, gold ornaments, prize bonds and valuables worth Rs1 million from the factory-cum-residence of an industrialist near Raajokey village on main Sialkot-Daska Road late Saturday night. The dacoits entered the factory of Zubair Ahmad and held up security guards Khalid and Shaukat at gunpoint. After looting cash and valuables from the factory, they stormed into the residence of the industrialist and made hostage family members at gunpoint. They fled away after collecting cash and valuables.

Sadar police have registered a case against 18 nominated accused, including Naveed, Zaheer, Saleem, Shabbir, Khalilur Rahman, Liaquat Ali, Iftikhar Husain, Saifullah and Shahid.

Meanwhile, the business community, expressing concern over the rising dacoity and theft incidents, has demanded early arrest of the accused.
