By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, April 13: A protest rally held on Wednesday evening in Malir criticized the government for its failure to provide protection to those attending the Eid Miladun Nabi (SAW) congregation at Nishtar Park.

The rally, which started from Saudabad Chowrangi and culminated at the RCD ground, was addressed by religious leaders and a large number of activists of various organizations attended the rally.

The Central Jamaat Ahle Sunnat, Anjuman Naujawanan-i-Islam, Anjuman Talaba-i-Islam on the occasion demanded punishment to those who had masterminded the blast. They also demanded protection to the common man, and condemned sporadic incidents of violence.

Earlier, Quran Khawani was held at Darul Uloom Qadria Rizvia Saudabad Chowrangi for the departed souls.

Meanwhile, youths lit bonfires on Begum Khursheed and Malir City roads paralysing life in the area. People faced problems due to absence of no public transport while there were also no taxis or rickshaws owing to burning of tyres.
