PESHAWAR, April 13: An Afghan NGO – German Aid for Afghan Children – has said it will continue relief efforts in earthquake-affected areas of Pakistan and asked donor agencies to provide more funds for rehabilitation of victims.

Speaking at a press conference at the press club here on Thursday, NGO’s country manager Mohammad Ali Jan Shahab said the organization had started relief activities in quake-affected areas from October 17 and since then had provided food stuff to 6,000 families and shelter to another 1,200 families.

He said that basically the NGO was working for providing education to children in Afghanistan but after the October 8 devastating earthquake, it started operation in the affected areas in Pakistan. He said that it had distributed relief goods worth one million dollar among victims.

He thanked the government and other organizations for their cooperation in relief activities.
