MIDDLESBROUGH (England), April 13: Middlesbrough enhanced the managerial credentials of England hopeful Steve McLaren with a 4-2 FA Cup quarterfinal replay victory over Charlton onWednesday.

The Australian duo of Mark Schwarzer and Mark Viduka were instrumental as Middlesbrough won a pulsating game that sees them reach their second cup semifinal of the season.

Middlesbrough took the lead through Fabio Rochemback's free-kick.

Charlton were level 63 seconds later as Bent flicked on Jon Spector's throw for Bryan Hughes to volley into the corner.

Boro again who took the lead after 26 minutes through James Morrison and the 19-year-old.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink made it 3-1 in the 73rd minute.

Charlton pulled one back two minutes later through an own goal by Gareth Southgate, but Viduka made sure of victory two minutes later.—Agencies
