ISLAMABAD, April 14: Two persons were killed while another one committed suicide here on Friday. Police said Omar Khan (22), a labourer hailing from Swat, and his cousin Momineen Khan were attacked by their relatives led by Jumadar Khan near a cement factory on G.T. Road.

During the brawl, Jumadar Khan drew his pistol and opened fire on the two persons.

As a result, Omar received three bullet injuries to the upper parts of the body, while his cousin sustained two bullet wounds.

Omar was shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) where he died, while his cousin was admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital Rawalpindi in critical condition.

In the second incident, a teenager was killed after being hit by a speeding vehicle in the Sihala police limits.

Attaullah, 14, suffered multiple injuries when a car (HY- 969) driven by Dr Musadiq Nazeer hit him while he was crossing the road near Koral Chowk.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died after succumbing to his injuries.

Meanwhile, a 24-years-old man committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan.

Mohammad Ashfaq, a daily-wage worker at a bakery located in G-9 Markaz, committed suicide in a rented room in G-9/2.

Quoting a child who had last words with the deceased, the police said he had been in distress and wanted rest. Later, he went into a room hired by one of his cousins, Munibur Rehman, and locked the door from inside.

When Ashfaq did not open the door for quite some time, his cousin got suspicious and broke the door open. He found Ashfaq hanging from the ceiling fan. He informed the police who shifted the body to Pims for legal process.

The police quoted the victim’s brother, who arrived from Saudi Arabia, as saying that: “I have no idea why he took this extreme step.” The family had repeatedly requested him to come to Saudi Arabia, but every time he refused saying he did not like to live with them, he added.
