NEW DELHI, April 15: Indian cricket board will investigate off-break bowler Mohnish Parmar's bowling action, who was among 12 bowlers reported for having a ''potentially flawed'' action at ICC U-19 World Cup in Sri Lanka.

In a statement on Saturday BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah said, ''BCCI has taken note of observations made by the panel appointed by ICC management for under-19 World Cup comprising Richard Done, Javagal Srinath and Dr Marc Portus regarding bowling action of Mohnish Parmar.''

''The panel observed bowling action of Mohnish Parmar raised some concerns at the event and was reported to the panel by match officials when they arrived in Sri lanka.

Board will investigate the action, as suggested by panel, and where ever necessary take corrective measures,'' he added.

He said since Parmar was either not selected or injured in matches seen by panel they could not reach a definitive conclusion.

The 17-year-old player's action would be analysed by off-spinner to identify problem, if any, and suggest rectification with help of video-analysis.

National Cricket Academy Director Shiv Lal Yadav will oversee process and help him to overcome problem.—PPI
