Passengers robbed of cash, valuables

KHAIRPUR, April 16: Passengers of a wagon were robbed near Babarloi on Saturday night. Reports reaching here said the wagon was on its way from Sukkur to Khairpur when three armed men, who were travelling as passengers, held hostage the driver and passengers at gunpoint, snatched cash and valuables from them and fled.

No case was registered till the filling of this report.

BANDIT ARRESTED: Police claimed to have arrested a notorious bandit and his three accomplices in the wee hours of Sunday.

Reports said the Khairpur police led by DPO Javed Jiskani and SP investigation Irfan Baloch launched a search operation in the katcha area.

They laid siege to the area in the jurisdiction of police station Faiz Mohammad Narejo near Khato Darya and after an encounter, arrested Shah Mohammad alias Jharee Narejo and his gang members Mohammad Nawaz Narejo, Ghulam Shabbir Kharoos, Haroon Ateero.

The police have also seized arms from them.

Jharee Narejo was wanted in 11 cases while Mohammad Nawaz in four cases and Ghulam Shabbir and Haroon Ateero in three cases each.

Jharee Narejo is accused of killing 15 persons. After accusation of kari against his sister, Jharee Narejo killed his father Khair Mohammad Narejo and mother in 1998. Later, he formed a gang.
