Illegal toll recovery continues

GUJRANWALA, April 16: The recovery of toll tax by the contractor on account of the bus bay construction is illegal while the National Highway Authority should conduct an audit of the company.

This was stated by PPP’s Ghakkhar town president Mian Saeed Tufail while talking to journalists here on Sunday.

He claimed that M/s Khan and company had occupied the highway land along the GT Road some 10 months ago and started recovering toll tax without any lawful authority.

In addition, he said, the company also sold the earth dug out for the construction of the bus bay in front of shops. They also planned to establish kiosks for receiving monthly rent after closing Nat Kalan and Ghazi roads.
