RAWALPINDI, April 16: Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has said the head of the suicide bomber behind Nishtar park blast has been found and the real culprits behind the heinous act would be traced soon.

Talking to representatives of media organisations after addressing a seminar on Sunday held under the auspices of Pakistan Medicine Association (Punjab Branch) here, he said those involved behind the Karachi blasts were against the integrity of Pakistan.

On the occasion, central president and Dean of Hamdard University Hakim Abdul Hannan, Adviser to the government of Pakistan on Medicine Hakim Ibn Salik, president Hamdard Foundation Pakistan Saadia Rashid, Dr Waseem Khawaja, Gastroenterologist Dr Shoaib Shafi, Hakim Bashir Bhatti and others presented their research thesis on gastroenteritis diseases.

Answering a question, Sheikh Rashid regretted the attitude of blaming each other. He said that the suicide blast in Karachi were of similar nature as the previous suicide bomb explosions that indicated hand of a particular organisation.

According to him even this was premature because law-enforcement personnel were on the look out for terrorists and the real culprits will soon be brought to justice.

Replying to a question the minister said we have brotherly relations with Iran and it is our Islamic neighbouring country.

He said President General Pervez Musharraf in his meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince has clearly said that Pakistan and Iran were against all sorts of aggression and wanted peaceful settlement of issues.

He said nuclear issue of Iran must be solved through mutual process of dialogue.

Replying to a question on the possibility of Nawaz Sharif and Benazir’s return before the next general elections, the federal minister said that we have been hearing this for the past many years and these are hearsay.

Earlier, while addressing the seminar he urged Hamdard Foundation President Saadia Rashid and other medical experts to adopt modern methods of treatment and to help get the masses more aware about ulcer through increased publicity.—Online
