Hawks win beach polo title

KARACHI, April 16: Karachi Hawks whipped Karachi Falcons by six goals to three to win the Karachi Polo Club (KPC) beach polo tournament on Sunday.

Hawks who edged out Knights 5-3 in the semis, were off to an impressive start taking 2-1 lead in the first chukker. Shahzad Azeem and Kashif Jamal struck in the first chukker for Hawks while Naveed Hakeem reduced the deficit.

Irfan Shaikh struck twice in the second chukker to gave Falcons a 3-2 lead.

The third chukker saw Hawks slamming home four goals to win the battle 6-3.

Shahzad Azeem and Kashif Jamal scored their second goal while Ahsan Fazaiil and Shahid Hayat completed the tally.

The UAE Consul General, Mohammad Amin Khalasi, who witnessed the final, said a UAE team would visit the country soon to play friendly ties.

Naib Nazim CDGK, Nasreen Jalil, in her speech assured KPC to provide a piece of land for reviving their activities.
