KARACHI, April 20: Shipping activity remained active at the port where two ships carrying containers took berths at the QICT during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release issued here on Thursday.

Another ship with furnace oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Seven ships, Gallant Wave, Indonesia Star, Nedlloyed Mascut, Donbass, Aqua Dance, Thor Skipper and Agean Tiger, are at the port to load and offload containers, rice, fertiliser and furnace oil.

A cargo volume of 84,684 tons comprising 53,474 tons of import and 31,210 tons of export was handled.

Two ships, Gallant Wave and Nedlloyed Muscat, sailed out, while Indonesia Star, Agean Tiger and Donbass are expected to depart on Thursday. Three ships, Taiking, Al-Maqwa and Chem Adriatic, are expected to take berths on Thursday.

Chemicals carrier Yanaseni is due to arrive at the port on Thursday, while MSC Maya and Chemstar Hero, with containers and chemicals, are due to arrive on Friday.
