KARACHI, April 20: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has stressed the need for geared up and coordinated steps for providing housing facilities throughout the province.
He directed the Malir Development Authority to develop more towns for housing facilities for low income peo-
ple in the province, and in Karachi.
He was presiding over a meeting held at Governor House in which details of the proposals were reviewed.
The meeting was attended by Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal, principal secretary Mohammed Saleem Khan, law secretary Ghulam Nabi Shah, Member Land Utilization, Khalid Mahmood Soomro, Secretary Local Government Mohammed Ishaq Lashari, EDO Revenue Saleh Farooqi, Project Director MDA Amirzada Kohati and other officials.
The meeting reviewed the availability of land while the governor urged the provincial government and concerned authorities of local governments to carry out better planning for available land and use it for public welfare.
The governor said there is imperative need for initiating more schemes in the province in view of housing needs of the people.
He said establishment of more housing units be examined keeping the population pressure in Latifabad, Hyderabad.
He stressed on expanding low cost housing system in other districts.—APP
