Drama festival concludes

SWABI, April 24: Policy-makers have failed to give due place to artistes and entertainers in society and there is not a single institution in the country where artistes can acquire training.

This was stated by actor Jamal Shah at the concluding ceremony of the three-day All-Pakistan Drama Festival at the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology here on Monday.

Renowned comedian Durdana Butt also participated in the festival which was organized by the institute’s Cultural, Dramatics and Entertainment Society.

Different plays – “Makhan Gujjar”, “A Crocodile’s Tail” and Pindi Tak – were presented at the festival by young artists.

Jamal Shah appreciated the performance of the young artists and said Pakistani artists were self-made people. He said Pakistan had talented writers, actors and performers.

“The roles played by the young artists are so admirable that I ask myself why I missed the past two days,” he said.
