ASI killed, constable hurt on resistance

OKARA, April 24: Four dacoits shot dead an ASI and injured a constable on offering resistance here on Sunday night at 28/2-R village on Jahdraka-Okara Road.

Reports said ASI Karamat Ali along with constable Qamar Zia was on way to city from Chuchuk police station by his bike. Near the village, the robbers who were looting passengers, intercepted the policemen. On resistance, they shot dead Karamat and beat up Qamar Zia as a result of which he fell unconscious. The bandits managed to escape. The injured constable was admitted to DHQ hospital.

Meanwhile, the body of Karamat Ali was sent to his native Litwana village, Kasur after funeral prayers at Manzoor Shahzad police lines.

The funeral prayers were attended by DCO Aslam Kamboh and DPO Tahir Mehmood Malik.

KILLED: A landlord was shot dead allegedly by his rival Gulzar Ahmad here on Monday at 22/4-L village over a land dispute.

Shahbore police have registered a case.
