LAHORE, April 24: The first two-day Punjab Juniors golf championship will be held at the Lahore Gymkhana course from Tuesday. Punjab Golf Association (PGC) secretary Zulfiqar Rana told a press conference on Monday that participation was open to all.

"It is for the first time an open competition is being organised considering it the only way to pick talented boys for the future," he said.

He said that a similar competition would also be held in other three provinces and Federal Areas by the end of April.

Each province and Islamabad will pick 10 talented boys each and all 50 would take part in the national championship to be held next month.

"Top 10 of the national event will receive monthly stipend from Rs7,000 to Rs10,000 and coaching classes to hone their skills," he said.
