KARACHI: Illegal hydrants

KARACHI, April 28: The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, on the directives of the city nazim and with the cooperation of the Rangers, have started a drive against illegal hydrants operating on water mains.

The KWSB staff on Friday removed 10 illegal connections drawn from 66 inch dia water main in Ayub Goth, Gadap Town while seven persons running the business were handed over to the police..KWSB MD Brig Iftikhar Haider said that the city government had been recommended that the lease of all such hydrants be cancelled and their power connections severed.-—APP
