Doctors’ strike continues

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, April 28: Doctors continued their strike for the third day on Friday with talks between the Balochistan health minister and chief of the PMA bearing no fruit.

The government and the striking doctors continued to blame each other for patients’ misery as the stalemate continued.

Health Minister Hafiz Hamadullah told this correspondent that the provincial association of doctors had not talked to him before going on strike. Referring to his talks with PMA’s president Dr Umar Ayub, he said the outcome was satisfactory.

Criticising doctors for what he termed their negative attitude, he said that their main problem was insecurity, he said he would have taken up the matter with senior government authorities if they had discussed it with him.
