Vaughan getting stronger: Byas

LONDON, April 28: Injury-hit England captain Michael Vaughan is making ‘gradual progress’ in his recovery from the knee problem that forced him home from the India tour, Yorkshire director of cricket David Byas reported Friday.

Vaughan is netting again on a regular basis and practised his fielding at Edgbaston on Thursday while his Yorkshire team-mates were tackling Warwickshire in the County Championship.

“Michael still has some way to go before returning to action but is getting stronger and stronger by the day,” Byas told the Yorkshire Post.

“Progress is being made, albeit gradual progress, and neither ourselves nor England are putting him under pressure.''

Vaughan returned home from India after a recurrence of a problem with his troublesome right knee.-—AFP
