Road blocked by villagers

LARKANA, May 5: A large number of people on Friday blocked the Motorway in Ratodero to press for their demand for the arrest of a former taluka police officer and two SHOs among 17 policemen allegedly involved in the killing of a villager.

The protesters, including women and children, were led by Sabir Soomro, Darya Khan and Nimat Kori. They burnt tyres on the road and pitched tents suspending vehicular traffic to Punjab, Larkana, Shikarpur and Shahdadkot for three hours.

They said that police were not arresting ex-TPO Murtaza Mirani, and SHO’s of Ratodero and Ketti Mumtaz police stations for killing a villager Muhammed Hassan Soomro during a protest demo about a month ago despite registration of an FIR against them.—Correspondent
