Protest against water shortage

MIRPURKHAS, June 2: Farmers of the Kotwah distributary took out a procession on Friday in protest against acute water shortage in Umerkot. The protesters carried banners and placards.

They raised slogans against officials of the Sindh irrigation department.

They marched on the main roads and reached the press club where they staged sit-in, causing traffic congestion.

The protesters reached the DCO office Umerkot.

DCO Mushtaq Shaikh met them and assured them that their problem would be solved.

The protesters also held demonstration outside the office of the district nazim, Umerkot, Faqeer Maghan Mangrio.

The nazim assured them that he would talk to the irrigations authorities for solving the issue.
