ISLAMABAD, June 8: Pakistan on Thursday termed the reported death of Al Qaeda leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in Iraq a ‘significant development’ in the ongoing war against terrorism.
Reacting to the report, Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said: “It is a significant development in the war against terrorism.”
“We continue to hope for the improvement of security situation in Iraq so that people of Iraq are able to live in peace and develop full control of their affairs,” she added.—Q.A
