Published June 14, 2006

LARKANA, June 13: Two people, allegedly kept in wrongful detention at the Ratodero police station, were released on court orders on Monday. A man, Paliyo Khan of the Karim Bakhsh Shaikh village, had filed a petition in the sessions court.

He stated that police had arrested his son Manzoor Jagirani and Imdad Jagirani without any case against them.

The court appointed Pir Bakhsh Khokhar as a raid commissioner and asked him to locate the two villagers.

When the official conducted a raid on the police station, he found both the villagers detained.

The duty officer failed to produce any document validating their arrest.

The raid commissioner asked the SHO to appear in the court on Tuesday.
