ISLAMABAD, June 13: A new hockey ground in Sector G-7 was inaugurated here as the Capital Development Authority (CDA) ste pped up a gear to provide another 25 grounds for various sports by the end of this month.

The head of CDA, Kamran Lashari said that a sum of Rs seven crore was being spent on developing the new grounds.

The CDA is providing alternate playgrounds to the public because the construction of new roads in Islamabad has eaten up several grounds.

The Authority is now making grounds which will never have to be re-located, Lashari assured. During the next fiscal year, CDA plans to develop 50 grounds for which it has enough money its kitty, he said.

Also among CDA's plans is to build eight mini sports complexes in different sectors of the city and three first class cricket grounds.
