ISLAMABAD, June 17: The People’s Party Parliamentarians has filed a reference with the National Accountability Bureau against Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, present and former federal ministers for petroleum and natural resources and the ministry’s top bureaucrats for their alleged involvement in corruption.

The others who have been nominated in the reference are Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Amanullah Khan Jadoon, former minister for petroleum Usman Aminuddin, ministry’s secretary Ahmad Waqar, former secretary Abdullah Yousuf, Qaisar Jamal, Abid Saeed Ibrahim, Asad A. Siddiqui and Tariq Kirmani.

The reference, filed by Advocate Nadeem Hussain Mughal on behalf of the PPP, states the respondents are involved in corrupt practices as defined in section 9 of the NAB Ordinance.

It says that for five years petroleum prices are being fixed by the Oil Companies Advisory Committee (OCAC) with the blessing of the petroleum ministry.
