KARACHI, July 10: Speakers at a demonstration organised by an NGO, the Actionaid at the Press Club on Monday, demanded of the government to repeal the Hudood Ordinances.

Majority of the demonstrators belonged to the coastal areas of Thatta and Badin districts.

They demanded that the entire Hudood Ordinances be abolished immediately and law making be done through the parliament.

They said that since the Hudood Ordinances were inserted into the constitution through the eighth amendment, the entire amendment be scrapped by the parliament.

The protesters were carrying banners with their demands written on them and were also chanting slogans in support of their demands.

Representatives of various NGOs also participated in the demonstration.
