KARACHI, July 29: The chairman of Pakistan Sunni Movement, Shah Siraj-ul-Haq, was cross-examined on Saturday during proceedings of Nishtar park judicial inquiry tribunal.
Justice Rehmat Hussain Jafari of the Sindh High Court directed the counsel for Maulana Asghar Dars not to ask any personal question and remarked that the proceeding of a tribunal was totally different from court's proceeding.
The tribunal was annoyed when Sathi Ishaq Advocate, counsel of Asghar Dars, asked some question of personal nature from Shah Siraj-ul-Haq, and he directed him to conduct the cross-examination by preparing himself according to the tribunal's rules and laws. Then he set the date of Aug 16 for cross-examination.
Maulana Dars's another counsel Anwar Yousufzai was directed not to level allegations.
Dr Ahmed Ali Memon, while deposing before the tribunal, said he conducted the autopsy of eight bodies, including that of Haji Hanif Bilo and provided medical treatment to an injured. He said that marks of injuries were spotted on the head, chest and abdomen of Hanif Bilo and were apparently caused by ball-bearings and pellets. The cause of his death was heart failure, he added.
Justice Jafari asked him whether he had conducted postmortem of Bilo's body in a proper way. He replied he did not.—Online
