Port Qasim

KARACHI, Aug 4: Slow berthing activity was witnessed at the Port Qasim where only one container ship, Basel, was accommodated berth at QICT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday.

Meanwhile, one more vessels carrying diesel oil arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy remained 67 per cent as seven ships were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, sugar and diesel oil.

A cargo volume of 56,372 tons comprising 38,548 tons of import and 17,824 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Nilgai and Al-Maqwa left the port while Basel, Nedlloyd Muscat and Adrekni were due to depart.
