NEW DELHI, Aug 4: India will host a one-day tri-series in January involving Sri Lanka and West Indies, cricket board secretary Niranjan Shah said on Thursday.

“Sri Lanka have confirmed and we are waiting for West Indies to give a final okay,” he said.

India have a packed calendar in the build-up to the World Cup to be played in the Caribbean in March-April.

They next play a tri-series against hosts Sri Lanka and South Africa from Aug 14 with another set for Singapore and Malaysia next month also involving Australia and West Indies.

West Indies were yet to confirm their participation in the southeast Asian event due to a board-player dispute, but were expected to give their nod in the next few days, Shah said.

India also host the ICC Champions Trophy in October-November before leaving for a Test tour of South Africa which will end in the first week of January.
